At a campus-wide gathering, TROSA recognized residents who have recently received professional certificates to help them achieve their career goals.
As part of TROSA’s comprehensive treatment program for long-term recovery, individuals have the opportunity to learn and practice new behaviors and skills. TROSA empowers residents to face challenges and to define and achieve goals. Goals take many forms and can include professional goals. In addition to on-site life skills training and learning through TROSA’s therapeutic classes and activities such as community assignments, residents can also take a college course and obtain certifications in specialized fields.
At our January campuswide house meeting, we highlighted fifteen residents who recently earned professional certificates. These residents completed many hours of coursework through our education partner Durham Technical Community College. This season, residents earned certificates in fields as varied as property management, substance use treatment, and construction estimating. Congratulations to all!
