Celebrating Generous Support for Addiction

TROSA celebrates a new investment in our campus enhancements from Truist Foundation. Truist Foundation is providing a generous $100,000 grant to support our expansion of residential and communal spaces on our main Durham campus.

Supporting Award-Winning Treatment Program

Founded in 1994, TROSA is an award-winning, multi-year residential treatment program that empowers individuals with substance use disorders to change their lives. For 30 years, TROSA has provided no-cost comprehensive treatment for substance use disorders for individuals throughout North Carolina and across the country. We are updating and expanding our main Durham campus (called T-West) to continue providing life-changing services and help people achieve a purposeful, stable, and self-sufficient life in recovery. Elements of the expansion include:

  • Construction of McDonald Hall (in addition to housing, includes 17 classrooms for group therapy sessions, classes, and literacy training)
  • Expansion of T-West’s kitchen and dining hall
  • Renovation of existing resident apartments

Constructing McDonald Hall

Truist Foundation’s grant includes supporting the construction of McDonald Hall, our most visible expansion project at T-West. TROSA President and CEO Keith Artin shares: “TROSA is thrilled to announce our partnership with  Truist Foundation. Without the community’s investment in our mission to empower people with substance use disorders to be productive, recovering individuals through comprehensive treatment, we couldn’t continue to offer our innovative programming. We are grateful to Truist Foundation for supporting our expansion, including the construction of McDonald Hall, named in honor of TROSA Founder Kevin McDonald, which will provide newer, more comfortable housing and meeting spaces for our residents.”

“Truist’s purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities,” said Truist Triangle West Market President Jordan Clark. “We’re delighted to support the expansion of the TROSA campus and proud of the work it does to change lives.”
