TROSA has won a record amount of community awards, voted by readers of INDY Week magazine. Every year, for the past two decades, INDY Week readers nominate and then vote on their favorite organizations and entities in the Triangle, North Carolina region (Durham, Wake, and Orange counties). This year (2022), the INDY received over 400,000 votes from 40,000 individuals in over 340 categories. We are proud to share that TROSA won seven community honors for the 2022 “Best of the Triangle Awards,” including Best Nonprofit in Durham County.
To thank our supporters, we created a short video announcing these award wins. You can click this link or click the below image to view our short video.

We emphasize the importance of community and connection throughout our program, so community-voted awards such as these are especially meaningful to us. TROSA empowers men and women with substance use disorders to change their lives. We accomplish this and thrive thanks to the support of many, both near and far. We take pride in our daily accomplishments and we are always honored to receive recognition for our efforts.
This summer, TROSA’s social enterprises TROSA Moving and Storage, TROSA Thrift Store, and TROSA Lawn Care won additional honors through Durham Magazine. Durham Magazine awards are also determined by public nominations, and tens of thousands of votes are cast each year. It’s wonderful to receive this support from the Durham community. Our 2022 “Best of Durham” Awards are:
Best Thrift Store: TROSA Thrift Store
Best Home Furnishings and Accessories: TROSA Thrift Store
Best Landscaper: TROSA Lawn Care
Best Storage Facility: TROSA Moving and Storage
The strength of our program and widespread support from our community means that we can continue to provide cost-free, comprehensive residential services for our men and women in recovery. Winning these awards helps to promote TROSA to those who may be looking for a long-term and free residential treatment program for substance use disorders. Community-driven awards instill tremendous pride throughout our campus and we feel fortunate to be a part of an extraordinary community supporting recovery.
