A new group of TROSA residents and graduates are training to become Peer Support Specialists! Peer Support Specialists are people living in recovery who provide support to others whom can benefit from their lived experiences. These TROSA residents and graduates are now one step closer to achieving their goals of becoming North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialists.
Several times a year we offer the chance for TROSA senior residents and graduates to train for Peer Support Specialist certification. On January 26, 2024, a new cohort of TROSA residents successfully completed training with instructor Elliot Palmer from NC H.O.P.E.
As a peer-driven and community-focused residential treatment program, TROSA residents help each other define and achieve their goals for long-term recovery. Trained Peer Support Specialists can utilize their lived experiences within our campus community as a valued part of our comprehensive program. Once certified, doors can open up to those with Peer Support Specialist credentials for rewarding careers in the behavioral health and recovery fields.
