Counseling

Counseling is an important piece of our program. TROSA is based on the Therapeutic Community model, which includes a behavior modification model focusing on peer based counseling. Additionally, if needed, psychiatric services and professional counseling are available.

Peer and Group Counseling Sessions

Residents participate in specialized group counseling sessions led by their peers or by staff members. Counseling sessions focus on discussing and analyzing key issues affecting individuals battling addiction.

Graduates are encouraged to attend bi-monthly support groups that help make their transition successful and support their continued recovery. These support groups provide assistance with maintaining sobriety, including relapse prevention skills, community involvement, and financial management. Regular attendance at group meetings or involvement in other TROSA activities is necessary for those who wish to benefit from the full range of aftercare services provided.

Other Clinical Services

Our professional staff offers a variety of clinical services, including gender-specific groups, educational workshops, and classes focusing on managing emotions to meet the specific needs of our residents. Additionally, through a partnership with Duke University Medical Center, we offer psychiatric services if needed.
