Community Involvement

Volunteering in the Community

TROSA believes it is important for our organization to stay involved in the community we are a part of. We believe that building an individual's self-esteem through learning to care about oneself and others is of paramount importance.

To this end, TROSA residents regularly volunteer at a variety of community sponsored events and activities. TROSA residents typically volunteer at events in the following ways: set-up/breakdown, clean-up, parking attendants, assisting vendors, traffic flow. Some of the recent activities have included:

• Festival for the Eno
• Bimbe Festival
• La Fiesta del Pueblo
• Durham Blues Festival
• Town of Chapel Hill Employee Appreciation Day
• Twilight at the Oasis (Cornucopia House)
• Centerfest
• The Special Olympics
• Various Neighborhood Association events
• Flood relief cleanup
